This is the first review we as a family have ever taken the time to write in 35 years of renting. We have stayed in many lovely places and have rented homes all over the country. That being said, we never have taken the time out to write a review because after returning home with our family of 9, life just seems to “kick back into overdrive”. Finding the quiet time to reflect and review a stay was never a priority.
This week however was different! We are still talking about this spectacular home and the week we had at the Cape. This home, not house, was one we were sad to leave. For the first time we didn’t find ourselves saying, “I can’t wait to get home to my own bed”. In an effort to avoid a very lengthy review, I will list the reasons you should consider this rental for your vacation;
The home was the most equipped home we ever stayed in, right down to sunblock!
The beds were amazing and bedding spotless.
Furnishings tasteful clean and SO comfortable.
There were so many places to gather. Imagine this scenario, 11 people broken down this way. Girls in porch working on puzzles. Son-in-law in front study working from home. Husband in tv room watching news. 4 kids playing cards in DR at table for ten. A couple of kids reading in front room with oversized couches and ottoman. Last but not least, one young adult having a work conference call in the side sitting area.
The location right off 6A was so accessible to everything. We could walk to general store for the paper and still had the quiet back roads for a run or bike ride.
The home was spotless and old with charm but new with conveniences.
The owners were amazing to work with and lovely to meet.
The cost was so far below the value of the vacation experience.
All in all, this home is the first one you should consider when searching a rental on the Cape. It was a week we as a family will cherish. For the first time while traveling, we stayed “home” in the rental instead of exploring. That was because the house was so accommodating and comfortable we just enjoyed staying put! Thank you for a very special time when our family needed it most…Lorenn
Dan and his brother were very accomodating to my last minute group. We arrived to fresh towels being pulled out of the dryer. The house was well equipped with supplies – bath and beach towels, even a tote and sunscreen for the beach. We loved the body wash and toiletries from Trader Joes! Even though the property does not have air conditioning, the nights were cool with plenty of breezes. The house is old and full of character. What is unique to the property – the huge dining room table fit for any large group, the numerous nooks and crannies perfect for a game of hide and seek, the old fashioned claw foot tub that you can’t help but sink deep into after a long day in the sun. For locations, you couldn’t ask for better. There are numerous beaches within less than 20 minutes driving distance (some with free parking and some with a charge). We loved the convenience to other “towns” by being right on 6A. Barnstable, Dennis and Brewster are really close. It was also a quick trip to Hyannis. I really couldn’t have asked for a better location to spend our trip in Cape Cod. The icing on the cake was the well thought out guide book provided by the hosts to help us plan our activities.Brooke
